**Summary:**TheLinemanperformsskilledJourneylevelline workintheconstructionandmaintenanceofthebasepoweranddeliverysystem at Dugway Proving Grounds.




**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)


· Ability to safely work on energized equipment and apparatus of voltages up to 46kV and be proficient in the use of either rubber gloving or hot stick work practices.


· Performshighlyskilled,journey-leveltransmission,distribution,andelectricalworkintheinstallation,construction,maintenance,andrepairofundergroundandoverheadelectrictransmission,distributionandservicelines,transformers,meters,meteringequipment,electricalsubstations,andrelatedequipment. Maintainallwiringtoandmaintenanceofallpolelighting.


· SupporttheprojectSafetyPlanthroughpersonalinvolvementinallaspectsofsafety,includingtrainingandattentiontotheadherenceof company, base, and OSHAsafetyrequirements.


· ThispositionisMissionCriticalandrequiredbythecompanytomeetcontractrequirements which requires working on call shifts as scheduled and responding to "call-outs" at any time of day, year-round, regardless of weather conditions.


· May lead crew or support supplemental help as required by Supervisor due to absence or work load.


· Performotherwork-relateddutiesasassignedbysupervisor.

**Minimum Qualifications:**(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)


· High School diploma and U.S Department of Labor Certificate as Journey Lineworker OR any equivalent combination of education and experience


· Minimum one year experienceasajourneylevellinemanengagedintheinstallation,maintenanceandrepairofpowerlines,transformersandrelatedequipment preferred.


· Possessavalid and currentCommercialDriver'sLicense(CDL)ClassA and medical card


· AbilitytoobtainaSecretClearance.




**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**


· Ability to climband work at heights withraisedpoles,laddersandtowersonadailybasiswithout undue discomfort and keepdailyrecords.


· Ability to handlemoderatephysicalexertion,heavyliftingandexposuretoinclementweather,aswellasthehazardousconditionsofworkingwithhigh-voltageenergizedlinesandequipment.


· Musthaveexcellentverbalcommunicationskillsforinterfacingwithmilitaryandciviliancustomers.


· Knowledge to wearanduseallrequiredpersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE),suchassafetyglasses,safetyshoes,earplugs,hardhat, proper fall restraintetc.


· Working knowledge of the appropriate safety procedures utilized while working with a line crew; working knowledge of line work; working knowledge of electricity;


· Ability to obtain a clear working knowledge of all power generation, circuits and loads of Dugway Proving Grounds electrical distribution system


· Skill in the use of equipment utilized in power line operation, maintenance and construction.


· Abilitytoread,writeandreceivewrittenand/orverbalinstructionsinEnglish.


· Familiar with the NEC and NESC
