### Summary
This is a Permanent Career/Career-Conditional Full-time position.
***Who May Be Considered:***

This position is located in Zion National Park, in the Visitor & Resource Protection Division. Please visit find a parkfor additional park information.
Zion National Park is located in southwestern Utah. Daytime temperatures average 90 to 100 in the summer and 55 in the winter. Nighttime lows range from 85 in the summer to 30 in the winter. Minimal shopping is available in Springdale, Utah located two (2) miles from Park Headquarters. A full range of shopping, medical, dental, religious and recreational facilities are available in Hurricane, (25 miles), St. George, (45 miles), and in Cedar City, Utah (63 miles). Elementary school (grades K-6) is available in Springdale (closest town to the park) with bus service provided. Junior high and high school is available in Hurricane, with bus service provided. Dixie State University is located in St. George and Southern Utah University is located in Cedar City.

### Responsibilities
This position is located in the Fee Collection Branch, Division of Visitor and Resource Protection at Zion National Park. The incumbent is supervised by the Assistant Revenue and Fee Business Manager. The incumbent serves as a supervisor and performs the full range of supervisory duties such as: hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and auditing. There will be a great deal of contact with the visiting public.
Responsible for directing activities within the park's fee collection operations, which includes, but is not limited to the following: collection of government monies, troubleshooting cash registers, planning and scheduling work, providing advice, counseling subordinates on both work and administrative matters, resolving subordinate complaints, documenting disciplinary actions, interviewing applicants, recommending selections for positions within the operation, and identifying and providing training and developmental needs of subordinates . Subordinates will collect and account for fees, process campground reservations, disseminate information, provide traffic control, and provide resource orientation to visitors.

Occasional travel - Travel may be required to attend trainings, conferences, workshops, and/or field visits. You may be required to obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.

* Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
* Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
* Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program. A financial institution must be identified within 30 days of entrance on duty.
* Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service).
* You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required. You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
* No government housing is available.
* You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
* You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
* If you are a new employee or supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
### Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
**EXPERIENCE:**At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Examples of specialized experience may include, but are not limited to: providing resource orientation, disseminating information, collecting and accounting for fees, leading others involved in fee collection and visitor orientation programs, and working with technology and software used in revenue and fee management. You must include month/year and hours per week worked.
* OR-
**EDUCATION:**Successful completion of 1 year (18 semester/27 quarter credits) of graduate-level education **DIRECTLY**related to the position. In order to qualify for this position based on education, you must submit transcripts. Please see the "Required Documents" section of this announcement for more information.
Education and experience may be combined to meet the specialized experience requirement.
**Volunteer Experience:**Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
**You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".**
### Education
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institutionwith your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

**Physical Demands:** Standing for long periods of time, bending, lifting of moderately heavy items, repetitive motions, walking on uneven terrain, hiking in the backcountry if appropriate, and sedentary work is required. Mental stress and physical fatigue occur due to a high volume of personal contacts, some of which are negative in nature, and the responsibility of dealing with large amounts of money.
**Working Conditions:** Employee will be exposed to extremes of temperature (105-110 degrees during summer months, below freezing in winter), direct sunlight, wind, rain, snow, and carbon monoxide. Work is often performed outdoors, in roadways, in small outdoor structures with open windows, at visitor center contact areas, and in an office environment. High levels of vehicle noise and emissions may exist during heavy visitation periods. Some work is performed alone in isolated locations.
